You have purchased your cabinet, table, sofa or chair, it has been delivered and installed. So far so good! Keeping it looking fresh is now the priority. Regular maintenance shouldn't be a chore, just a few simple fixes should keep it in pristine condition.
All of our oak and pine furniture has already been treated with several coats of clear lacquer or wax which give each item a high degree of protection against the rough and tumble of every day use. It should go without saying that table mats or drink coasters should always be used with hot and cold dishes and drinks to avoid accidental ring marks or spillages.
Before and after use, a simple wipe with a warm damp cloth should clear up dust and minor spillages. If something has been left to dry, a weak solution of washing up liquid (not abrasive kitchen cleaner) will clear any sticky patches.
Accidental dents in pine can be lifted by taping a damp tissue or cotton wool ball over the dent for a couple of hours. The pine will absorb the dampness and swell back to its original level.
With upholstered furniture, a regular vacuum or gentle brush will avoid longer term damage from grit and dust and keep it fresh. Any proprietary branded product used for liquid or food stains should be tested on an unseen area to assess its reaction to the fabric and the instructions followed carefully.
Don't forget to plump the chair and sofa cushions on a regular basis to stop them sagging, and avoid sitting right on the edge of the seats.
If your household is hectic, with children grandchildren or pets, Premier Care for your purchase is available. Please ask a member of staff to explain the benefits to you.
In a nutshell, your purchase (wood cabinet, upholstered or leather sofa) will be covered against all kinds of stains, even pet stains, and accidental damage for a full five years!
