Millbrook Beds0 Products
Millbrook beds took their name from the Millbrook area of Southampton, where their first upholstery and bedding factory opened up in 1946. It was more of a workshop than a factory in those early days, but the decision was made to make quality the byword on all their products right from the outset.
This far sighted policy soon gained the small family firm the reputation they sought, and gained inroads to the more discerning commercial clients and members of the landed gentry alike.
Based around a major port, the company came into contact with the cruise liner business, and when the Union Castle Line awarded Millbrook the contract to refurnish and carpet their entire fleet, the small local company moved up into the Premier league, and their future was assured.
Continuing with the original “quality first” philosophy, Millbrook's reputation grew and soon they were able to count both Houses of Parliament, foreign embassies, both at home and world wide, and an ever growing circle of private customers throughout the UK, Europe and the United States. When pocket spring mattresses were first introduced, there was no laid down standard. Consequently, the quality varied considerably from company to company. A British Standard was soon introduced, and Millbrook were amongst the first to be awarded the new BS5750, which related directly to makers of pocket sprung beds.
The Millbrook brand remains a family owned company to this day, and some of their skilled mattress and divan makers and seamstresses have followed their parents and grandparents into the firm.
Pursuing their constant quest for improvement, the Millbrook design team are now working closely with the Garmin Sleep Tracker Company, whose equipment gathers sleep pattern data from people from all walks of life.
The resulting information will show how much of an impact a person's sleep pattern has on their everyday life. Millbrook will be able to translate this information and input the benefits into the next generation of their divans and mattresses.
We at Better Furniture are pleased to have been selected as a stockist for Millbrook products and can offer, for a limited period, a Garmin Smart Sleep Tracker free of charge with any Millbrook mattress.
Members of our staff have undertaken the rigorous training regime offered by Millbrook and are qualified to help and advise on any points our customers may raise, but should they not be able to satisfy your enquiry, the Millbrook product consultants are just a phone call away.
Although our websites for the Great Yarmouth and the Norwich stores are informative in terms of size, price points and specifications, they cannot convey comfort levels. Our best advice is to come into one of our stores and physically try them out as one person's “soft” may be another person's “too soft”.
There is no substitute for spending an hour or two trying out your short list of mattresses. It represents a short amount of your time when measured against the eight or so hours every night when you will be depending on it.
We have a good cross section of divans and mattresses always on display, and a member of staff will be happy to work with you if you so wish.
You may wish to spread the cost in order to get the bed and mattress combination you want.
Better Furniture can offer several finance plans, calculated over a fixed period to suit your budget.
Your bed will be specially made to order, and you can expect delivery of it three to four weeks after ordering.
Better Furniture will deliver anywhere on the UK mainland for just ten pounds, and if you live within thirty miles of either of our stores you will qualify for our Premium Delivery Service. This involves a two man specialist team (our own staff) who will deliver your bed to your room of choice and assemble it in situ, having phoned you one hour before their arrival. All wrapping and packaging will be taken away.
Outside the thirty mile limit, we operate a one man courier service who will deliver to your home on a pre-determined day.
We now look forward to you checking out our websites and subsequently meeting you in store.
